CASE STUDY: FENCING AND ENTRANCE
Client: Gilfach Fire Station Location: Hendreforgan, Gilfach Goch Replacement: Gates & Fencing
Project Overview
We, at Ridgeway Contractors Ltd, successfully completed a challenging project at Gilfach Fire Station during its recent refit. In this case study, we highlight our role in providing and installing high-quality black powder-coated welded mesh fencing around the fire station perimeter and installing new entrance gates to improve both security and accessibility. The project was carried out under live conditions, ensuring minimal disruption to the ongoing operations of the fire station, which is crucial for emergency services.
THE CHALLENGE
Working in an active and operational environment like a fire station comes with its own set of challenges. Gilfach Fire Station needed a secure and robust fencing solution for its perimeter as part of the station's refit. The main challenge was completing the work while the site remained operational and fully functional under live conditions. This required us to carefully plan, coordinate, and follow strict safety measures to avoid any disruption to the fire station's operations.
OUR SOLUTION: BLACK POWDER-COATED WELDED MESH FENCING
We designed and installed a high-performance black powder-coated welded mesh fencing system for Gilfach Fire Station. We chose this fencing solution for its durability, aesthetic appeal, and strong security features. The welded mesh design offers superior strength and a high level of security, which made it the perfect option for securing the perimeter of a sensitive site like a fire station. The black powder-coating provides an extra layer of protection against the elements, ensuring that the fencing system remains durable and functional for years. Additionally, the sleek black finish blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment, enhancing the visual appeal of the fire station’s exterior. The powder-coated finish also reduces the need for ongoing maintenance, providing a cost-effective solution in the long run.
NEW ENTRANCE GATES INSTALLATION
As part of the contract, we also supplied and installed new entrance gates at Gilfach Fire Station. These gates were designed to complement the perimeter fencing while allowing smooth access for emergency vehicles and personnel. The gates were built to provide enhanced security, strong durability, and easy accessibility, ensuring swift entry during high-pressure, emergency situations. The design of the gates matched the black powder-coated welded mesh fencing, maintaining a cohesive and professional appearance for the fire station.
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
Despite the challenges of working in a live environment, we successfully completed the installation on time and with minimal disruption to the ongoing operations of Gilfach Fire Station. Through careful planning and coordination with the fire station, we ensured the project was completed safely and efficiently without affecting emergency services. We followed strict safety measures throughout the installation to protect both our team and fire station personnel. The project was finished within the agreed timeframe, ensuring that the fire station remained operational and secure throughout the refit.
